We are hiring a full-time, permanent Manager, Facilities position working out of Edmonton, AB.

 

The Manager, Facilities is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and costeffective facilities management services across multiple Electricity Operations sites. Managing a portfolio of over 480,000 square feet across three sites, the Manager, Facilities leads a team and oversees a consolidated service provider, driving performance, continuous improvement, and effective change management across both operational and capital initiatives.

What you’d be responsible for

  • Manage endtoend facilities management services, including maintenance, repairs, custodial services, utilities administration, parking, landscaping, snow removal, and access control.
  • Ensure facilities are safe, compliant, reliable, and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, develop, and engage a highperforming facilities team with a strong focus on safety and service excellence.
  • Oversee space planning, move coordination, renovations, and facilityrelated projects from planning through execution.
  • Manage thirdparty service providers to ensure performance, safety, and service expectations are consistently met.
  • Translate business direction into short and mediumterm facilities operating plans and priorities.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on performance metrics related to cost, service quality, space utilization, and customer experience.
  • Support facilities operating budgets, business cases, and longterm lifecycle planning.
  • Lead the development and execution of facilities capital programs, including lifecycle replacement and growth initiatives, informed by building condition assessments and future business needs.
  • Identify operational risks and lead continuous improvement initiatives across facilities services and processes.
  • Lead change management efforts to support evolving business needs and facility enhancements.
  • Negotiate, manage and amend applicable Electricity Real Estate leases
  • Coordinate real estate acquisitions and divestitures and provide specialized subject matter expertise as required.
  • Assist with the development of Real Estate plans and future needs planning

What’s required to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is required
    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • CFM, FMP, FMA, CSCP, or other relevant facilities or supply chain designations are an asset
  • 5–10 years of experience in facilities management, operations, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Experience in a regulated or utility environment is an asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management, building operations, asset lifecycle management, and space planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in capital programs, project and contract management
  • Sound financial and analytical skills, including budgeting and performance measurement.
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate solutions
  • Experience managing service providers and setting performance expectations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust, accountability, and capability within teams.
  • Strong communicator able to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
